M1916 Colt holster for M1911 Colt pistol. Nice and solid light brown leather construction. The flap is embossed with the “US” letters.
The back shows the manufacturer stamp “A.L.P. Co” and is not dated. ALP Co stands for Atchison Leather Products Co. This maker is known for manufacturing WWI and WWII M1916 Colt holster.
Two holes were made on the flap for the brass stud. It appears to be a factory modification to accomodate another pistol slighly bigger?

Etui de Colt modèle 1916 accommodant le pistolet Colt M1911a1. Belle et solide construction en cuir brun clair. Le rabat est marqué des lettres « US ».

Deux trous de réglages sont présent sur le rabat pour passer le pion en laiton. Il semble que ce soit une modification d'usine pour pour accomoder un autre pistol légerement plus grand?
