M1916 holster for M1911 Colt pistol. The back is marked with the manufacturer name; “Perkins Cambell” and is dated 1917. It is also identified on the back to Lt. G. Z. Mellen.

Brown leather construction. The flap is embossed with the “US” letters.

It still has its original white leather leg strap that has been braided to be more convenient when carried.

It was issued and carried and is therefore in battle used condition. The leather loop holding the brass hook is cracked on both side but still holds the hook in place. The front flap is used. The embossed “US” letters are faded.

Etui de Colt Modèle 1916 accommodant le pistolet Colt M1911. Le dos est marqué avec le fabricant « Perkins Cambell » et est daté 1917. Cet étui est également identifié au dos au Lt. G. Z. Mellen.

Construction en cuir brun. Le rabat frontal est marqué avec les lettres « US ».

Cet étui dispose de sa sangle de jambe originale en cuir blanc qui a été tressée pour être plus commode lorsque porté sans utilisé cette sangle.

Ce holster fut distribué et porté et est donc en état utilisé au combat. La sangle de cuir portant le crochet de transport est craquée des deux cotés mais maintient encore le crochet en place. Le rabat frontal est usé et les lettres « US » sont estompées.
